The Smith Centre Intake counsellors will assist you in accessing our programs. Prior to entering any of our treatment programs, a formal comprehensive assessment is usually completed. This is available through any of the Assessment and Referral Programs situated in communities throughout North-western Ontario. In areas without an Assessment and Referral Program, Smith centre Intake can assist referents and clients to complete the Client Admission process, including an assessment. The assessment process is essential in determining the severity of presenting addiction problems, the presence of other mental health and/or medical issues, and an individual’s strengths and resources.
