Cocaine (Crack)

How does your use compare?

In a 1994 survey of more than 1800 Canadians aged 15 to 24; about 4% said that they had used cocaine or crack at least once in their lives.

How likely are you to have a problem?

A 1991 survey of more than 9000 people asked how cocaine uses affected their:

  • Physical health
  • Outlook on life
  • Relationships with family and friends
  • Finances
  • Work or school

The results showed that the more cocaine people used the greater the chance that it was causing problems in one or more of these areas. Look at the chart and see where you fit.

 

Cannabis (Hash, Weed, Pot)

How does your use compare?

Cannabis is the most widely used illegal drug in Canada. In a 1994 survey of more than 1800 Canadian aged 15 to 24, 22% said that they used marijuana or other forms of cannabis once or more in their lives. The other pie slice shows how often these young Canadians used Cannabis.

How likely are you to have a problem?

Next to caffeine, alcohol is the most widely used drug. Alcohol is a depressan. If abused, it can impair your ability to think, to make decisions and to function in day-to-day life.

A 1994 survey of more than 12 000 people asked how alcohol use affected their:

  • Physical health
  • Outlook on life
  • Relationships with family and friends
  • Finances
  • Work or school
